Trail Adopter Program
Trail Adopters are volunteer stewards who help keep designated trail segments safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. We ask adopters to track the time they spend on trail maintenance and report any work completed to the RTA.
Primary Responsibilities
Visit your assigned trail section on a regular basis, typically two to three times each year and after significant weather events when possible.
Assess trail conditions and identify maintenance needs, such as erosion, drainage issues, downed trees, missing signage, overgrown vegetation, or safety hazards.
Perform basic trail maintenance such as clearing branches and picking up trash.
Submit your report through the trail adopter volunteer report form.
Serve as a steward and ambassador for the trail system by promoting responsible trail use and helping visitors understand trail etiquette and conservation practices.
